Life of Insects
Just like insects get attracted by light considering it as highest form of darkness, we humans, get attracted by word “success” considering it as synonym for “happiness”.
What next?
Self directed suicide.
Ever noticed how insects are attracted to a 60 watts bulb at home ? Ever wondered why they do this? I think, they are confused by sudden infinite light and consider light as darkest place and as they love darkness, they fly towards light source and suicides most of the times. If survived, they become maniac and start circling light source. There are two end results if this goes on for long time : they see dawn before next night, find dark corner and sleep or find themselves in grave. Circling around light source is not an infinite loop. There is a hidden break condition, it depends upon your tolerance level property.
It also depends on, how smart you are to identify light vs darkness or real darkness vs imaginary darkness or real light vs imaginary light. 
Also, if an insect is living in lizards affected area, it should migrate to lizard-safe land. i.e Land of liberty, land of opportunities, land of freedom, land of the second chance. 
Or face the lizards, defeat them all and conquer your area as a safe habitat. If you defeat lizards, you will be known as revolutionary personality aka GOD in your species.
Never get confused between Success and Happiness.
